Feel Again!

On October 18th of this year (2012) my husband and I were both going to work for the day and then that night we were leaving on our Road Trip Honeymoon! (we’d been married about 9mos but not gone on our honeymoon yet).

On my way to work that morning I heard a song on the radio called Feel Again by One Republic. The tune was catchy so I turned up the radio. As I listened to the words they reminded me of my life before I met my husband and how so many things had changed in the last four years since he and I had brought our families together (5 kids total)—So many things had changed for the better and life was (and still is) wonderful. I also reflected on just how great of a band One Republic was and how they have so many good songs! I was moved to tears that morning and they were tears of Joy and Gratitude .

That evening we dropped the kids off where they would be staying for the next two weeks while we Honeymooned in Vegas and Lake Tahoe. As we were leaving our city “Feel Again” came on the radio. I told my husband about how I’d been moved to tears while listening to that song earlier that morning and the reasons behind the emotions.

Two days later we arrived in Las Vegas. Our first night there we stayed at The Plaza on Fremont Street. We walked down the street seeing all there was to see – including a large stage set up next the The D Hotel and Casino. It turned out that in honor of The D grand opening ONE REPUBLIC WAS PLAYING A FREE SHOW THAT NIGHT!!!!

When we realized they were playing there I gave my husband a playful punch on the shoulder and asked

“You know what this is don’t you?!”

He replied “No…what?!”

“It’s a gift from God!” I exclaimed

He laughed and rolled his eyes a little…

That night I not only got to hear my new favorite song played live by the band that sings it- but I got to record it to listen to and watch over and over again!!
